  1. Damn Midtown Comics isn’t stocking this for another week. Damnit!

  2. ^Yeah, I noticed that several online shops didn’t have it yet, so I ordered mine at talesofwonder.com. Never used them before, but this HC was cheaper from them anyway.

As posted on the DC Source blog, about the cover (also the cover of B&R 11), Morrison says:

"When I first saw this simple Batman vs. Robin X-shaped composition I was sure that Batman’s extended leg was too long, but I should have known Frank Quitely doesn’t make anatomical mistakes like that. When you turn the cover on its side as if Batman’s standing in a martial arts or yoga pose, his leg is in perfect proportion."

HAH. I knew it had to be an opticle illusion type thing. Still think the cover’s a bit wonky, though. I’d’ve preferred the cover from issue 10.

  3. Does this mean the next volume is only going to be 4 issues, seeing as how Morrison’s run on B&R is ending on 16 this week?

  4. ah finally. I need this one so i can see about trying to catch up and follow in issues.

I like that they went with the hyper extended knee cover. Batman is out for 6-10 weeks and will probably miss the playoffs. That cover always irked me.

  5. @captbastrd: I have thought about this as well. Looks like it’ll be a smaller hc. I wonder if there could be some discussion at DC to have this run of 16 issues done in Absolute form in a few years. Maybe even add the 6 issues of TROBW with it. A nice 22 issue Absolute.

  6. Gah! I went to mycomicshop.com and they show this as having the image from the B&R #10 cover. Then Amazon shows a totally different cover (a page from B&R #1, I think). I have no idea where these stock cover images are coming from, but I hope the copy I ordered has the B&R #10 cover.

@capbastd: Amazon’s already solicited vol. 3 (not out till next summer), and it says it has 168 pages…the same number of pages as vol. 1 had. So I don’t know if that’s an error or if they’re going to stick a bunch more bonus material in the vol. 3 collection.

  7. THey’ll probably stick Batman: The Return at the end of Vol. 3. Otherwise I’m not sure where else it’ll sit in collections since the ‘Time and the Batman’ only collects Batman 700-702
