  2. I really enjoyed this issue. Arcudi did a fine job setting up the mission, and introducing some more of the Bureau’s regular joe agents. The last page has me hungry for the next installment, though I may need to do a refresher of the last few story arcs to keep all the new developments straight. Some may see this as a negative, but I’m always happy to re-read some BPRD. In fact, I would be kind of bummed to read a book where the story developments were so simple that I never needed to go back and refresh; complex sagas like this title make me feel like I get more for my money.

Laurence Campbell did a fantastic job for his first foray into the world of BPRD, his chiaroscuro style fit the bill perfectly. This year there have been many wonderful additions to the artist bullpen of the Mignolaverse books, and each one has brought something different and exciting to the table.
