Ever since the Warbird storyline, things have really started to click for this title. It seems like it took a few issues for Marjorie Liu really establish the voice of the book, plus the addition of Gabriel Hernandez Walta didn’t hurt. This new arc is really showing the potential for Iceman as a character and as a power to be reckoned with.
I jumped onto this during X-Termination. Thought this issue was better than any within the arc. It might even be my POTW. This was Liu doing her “baseball” issue following a big event. Loved the conversations between Bobby and the exes, Kitty and Wolverine, Gambit and Mystique. What always drew me to the X-Men was its soap operatic appeal. This fills a void that isn’t there in any of the other X-books at the moment.
I picked this up because I am an Iceman addict and, having never read the title, was pleasantly surprised. This book will be on my pull list for a long time to come. Is this part of the normal continuity?
