ASTONISHING THOR #1 (OF 5)

The God of Thunder finds himself battling a mysterious surge of natural catastrophes — hurricanes, tidal waves, earthquakes. At first, the Son of Odin suspects Zephyr, immortal mistress of the winds, but soon he finds that the climactic upheaval must be attributed to a much larger force… Ego, The Living Planet! Spinning out of the destruction of Asgard, Astonishing Thor is an out-of-this-world adventure — where the entire universe hangs in the balance!

  1. Picking this up for Ego.  Loved the stuff they did with him in Nova. Hope it stands up to Astonishing Spiderman Wolverine (badass) and is better than the current Astonishing X-Men (disappointing).

  2. Thinking of picking this up for Ego thing, but…

I’m both bored of the over exposue of Thor AND the in-but-out of continuity Astonishing verse

  3. HOW MANY DAMN THOR BOOKS ARE THERE NOW??? AND THEY HAVE TO CANCEL THE ONLY ONE I LIKE! GAH.

  4. Aren’t astonshing books supposed to be special? I don’t see the pull on this, never heard of the creators. I would like to see Thor and Ego interact, but it would be totally sweet if D and A wrote it

  5. Eh, what the heck. I’ll give this a shot.

  6. The art is very pretty, but the story is kind of boring so far.  Dunno if I’ll read the rest.

  7. I quite enjoyed this issue and gave it a 4, perhaps more for the feel and art but that’s what makes it "Astonishing" imho. The first spread I would pay good money to have the originals for on my wall. 🙂

  8. That was mad cool! Ego,Zephyr & The Stranger all in one issue. Great art too. That’s what I call a Thor book! The Astonishing line continues to deliver.
