Peter Milligan’s arc is so-so (though it has some memorable moments), and then it dips even lower with Tom Veitch (though the end of his run is pretty epic and mind-shattering). I’m excited for everyone who will get to read Jamie Delano’s run after that (which looks like its two trades away). I’m a Hellblazer fanatic, and Delano’s Animal Man is better than any Hellblazer I’ve ever read. It goes right up there with The Invisibles and Love & Rockets as being on of the best things ever to come out in comic form.
I loved Milligans run and Nowhere Man is a great character. I suggest everyone pick this volume up! I wasn’t much into what Veitch did but I enjoyed the hell out of Delano’s run. Are they releasing that in trade? I own every issue but would love to have them all in trade too. I was shocked but pleased that they put this out.
