  1. Honestly it’s about time this thing wraps up. I really want Lemire to get telling a self contained story and let his talent and this book breathe a bit. I’d also reeeeeeally like to see a new artist. Steve Pugh has been pretty lacklustre thus far.

  2. Honestly this whole thing has been 8-10 issues too long. Can’t wait for this to finally be put to bed and we can get something that feels fresh and new with this book.

  3. Dropping this after this issue, story has dragged on long enough

    • The conclusion is in issue 18. Why not just drop it this week if you don’t want to read the finale?

      Also blah blah art

      Blah blah dragging

I still love this book and swamp thing.

    • I’m going to give Animal Man an issue or two after this one before dropping it. I want to see what Lemire has planned after all this rot stuff is finally over.

Jae Lee starts doing covers with #18. Hopefully a new interior artist wil be comig soon as well.

    • I thought the conclusion of animal man and swamp thing was in issues 17, I’ll be dropping at 18 then

    • I stand corrected. The next issue is the epilogue.

If you made it this far you might as well read the epilogue…

    • I will be getting the epilogue then, I will wait and see peoples reactions to the next arc and may pick it up in trade.

  4. Ready to see how this ends and what will be next. Wonder what types of stories he’ll be used for now!

  5. So glad I dropped it at issue 12. Don’t even care how it ends now. 20 issues of animal man and 20 of swamp thing makes 40 issues for rotworld. That’s way too many for one story.

  6. I’m happy to see this end, as well. Although I’m definitely sticking around. Read an interview on CBR where Lemire recognized this dragged on way too long — and that he was going back to telling shorter, more effective stories with both this and Green Arrow. Remember how great Animal Man was from #1-10? Hopefully, we get back to that.

  7. As much as I’m ready for Rotworld to end, this was actually a very good issue. The heroes versus Rotworld Justice League and various other characters was a lot of fun, with a lot of great character moments along the way. I don’t want to spoil it, but the bit with Frankenstein’s monster was rowdy!

  8. While I agree with this went on too long I loved the issue. There were some good character moments and excited to see how this wraps up and where it goes from here.

    • yeah, that’s how I felt too. I picked up both Swampy and Animal Man and just happened to read Animal Man first. Lucky that I did because Swampy picks up immediatly following that final panel. (I thought this was a MUCH stronger entry than that one though)

  9. First, let me just say that I don’t understand why writers/editorial can’t simply tell a f*ing story. Why oh why does editorial think that the readers want an EPIC. They’re always a letdown.

I was going to drop Swampy and Animal Man…but now I reconsider because the finale of Rotworld is so meh. I’ll give another arc a shot.

High points: Frank as a GL? Sure. That could’ve been explored in Frank’s own book–IF DC HADN’T CANCELLED IT ALREADY!

Here’s an idea…let’s get back to some character stories…some “small ball” if you will. I’m glad this thing is almost over.
