  1. Really excited for this after last weeks annual

  2. That cover is awesome

  3. After Lemire’s first JLD issue I am excited and relieved that he’s going to put them into his story.

  4. I know it probably won’t last, but I am so excited to see this book and Swamp Thing with more pulls than AvX, I wish this was representative of the comics industry as a whole.

    • Animal Man will have more pulls than AVX for sure. There’s also a very strong chance Earth 2 will push AVX into third. Swamp Thing probably won’t make it past fourth place though.

    • I think Lemire or Snyder has beaten AVX every time it’s come out. Has AVX ever been the top pulled book?

I know Animal Man is popular here shame it’s not higher on the sales charts

  5. Been a fan since the relaunch, but didn’t get the Animal Man Annual – will I miss a chunk of the storyline if I don’t get it or is it just a stand-alone book?

    • The annual is just a flashback story so you aren’t really missing much. It was a pretty good issue though.

    • Nice one, thank you. Money is a little on the tight side, which is why I didn’t pick it up. May well grab it if I have a small week incoming though.

    • I’ve just read issue 10 and really it goes over the stuff hinted at in the annual.

The end of the world is coming.

To survive the red, green and rot need to live in balance, but at the moment the rot’s avatar is a little more committed than the other too.

  6. This continued the fun. It was a shock to see more members of JLD – I thought it would just be Constantine.

Constantine and Cliffs conversation is likely to become historic

  7. Don’t mess with Maxine, Zatanna…

  8. I’m rather dreading it but I have a bad feeling this book may be leading to being just Buddy and Maxine, and the end of Ellen and Cliff.

    • I don’t think that will happen, at least I hope it doesn’t – one of the biggest appeals of Animal Man is his family life.

    • Doubt it. Morrison told Lemire not to f*** with Buddy’s family lol.

“The relationships between Buddy and his family is what makes this book different in the DCU. I saw Grant in San Diego, and he said, “Don’t fuck with his family.””

    • I hope I’m wrong but we’ll see….alternatively, what if Ellen and Cliff are turned over to be part of the Rot….could we handle the family if two of them are set up as villains for future storylines?

  9. I just finished the book, that’s 10 awesome issues in a row Mr. Lemire, congratulation!
Looking forward to Buddy Baker vs Buddy Baker next month!
