Left in a near-catatonic state following the events in Buffy Season 8, Angel will need a seriously rude awakening if he’s to make amends for his ill-conceived deeds. 3. Buffy universe mini?! Angel?! Faith?! Christos Gage?! How did I not know about this!

  4. Really can’t wait for this. Especially after the fact that they left Angel as the bad-guy AGAIN at the end of season 8 of Buffy.

  5. Haven’t read any S8 but getting this.

  6. Awesome. Really well done, and congrats to Gage for nailing the voices and pacing in the dialogue. That could not have been easy

  7. Well, now, I guess we have a Season 9. I was a bit fearful, but it appears my uneasiness was misplaced. Great book- it”s really getting back to what the Buffyverse is all about. Cheers, Scoobies!

  8. Wow! Welcome back Buffyverse!

  9. Man, I loves Buffy, but I quit Season 8 after a while due to boring nonsense. Will I get this if I didn’t stick with it? I mean, I know what happens (vaguely). Will this be unreadable to me?

    • Nah it should be ok. There is a tiny recap that should be enough for you to get a handle on it, especially if you gleaned bits and pieces of Season 8 while it was going on.

I hesitant about this book, not because of the creative team, but because Angel and Faith combine to be two characters that are very meh to me in the Buffyverse. But this was well written, and I am very interested in what we could learn about Giles past, and hopefully the Watchers Council, which I still feel is kind of vague about how they run, even after their moments in both TV shows.

  10. Wow, this was so freaking good! So glad that Angel is back at darkhorse, and that hes clearly in good hands. Can’t wait for Buffy soon, too!
