  1. I almost missed this book in the pulls for this week. Thank God I didn’t. Let’s get back to it!

  2. Thsi is the final part of the First Night mini, right? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been enjoying it, I just wanna get back into the thick of the main story.

  3. I think so, yes, but for a more tangential look at the whole thing, there’s going to be a spinoff series called Spike: After the Fall, which is a four part miniseries that will catch us up to speed on Spike and "Illyria" from then till now, which is something I’m really interested to see… I think it starts around the time of Issue Nine…

  4. Also interesting to note, it looks like nine’s gonna be shipping before the end of the month (if they’re on schedule, which I guess they would be) which makes me giddy…

  5. @GungaDin – Thanks for the info, dude. I’ve really enjoyed this mini, especially Connor’s story, I’m just itching to get back to the main thread.

I’ve already signed on for the Spike mini, but didn’t know it’d be covering the Illyria story, or that it might be shipping so quick. Thanks again, mate! 🙂

  6. Another book…. I looooove!!!

  7. @Eyun Yeah, it’s going to be mostly about Spike, but Illyria as a character is tied pretty heavily to Spike, methinks.  At the end of issue five we know she hasn’t seen Wesley since he died, and my guess is Angel’s seeing her at the end of issue three (or was it two?) was as much a surprise to him as it was us… But I could be wrong. I’m gonna read through the trade when it comes out because I’m so addicted to the Jossversage…

  8. @GungaDin – I know what you mean, mate. All Jossverse books have been so damn good I’ve been lapping them up too quick, hard to remember what’s happened when. I’ll definitely have to re-read my issues at some point to refresh myself. Thanks again, bro 🙂

  9. has the art gotten any better ont his book sense issue 3ish?

  10. @capcool It’s not bad art, methinks. It’s gritty, but the art team changed after issue five. They’re on rotating artists now until issue nine when they get a new art team while the guy who did the art for 1-5 is doing the Spike: After the Fall miniseries.

John Byrne did a five-or-so page stint in issue six that wasn’t half bad (and I’m not a Byrne fan… So…)

More than anything, though, the art still has the same sorta feel to it.
