Fan-favorite character Travis Kidd—the vampire hunter who likes to “bite them back”—makes his return in this new AMERICAN VAMPIRE one-shot!
It’s a story burned deep into the American psyche: two young lovers, a stolen car and the open road. But these young lovers are newly turned vampires trying to fight the bloodsucking urge inside them. To make matters worse, they’ve got a pack of angry vampires on their tails—plus bad-ass vamp-killer Travis Kidd. He’s tracking the “Heartbreak Killers” across the heartland, but can he stop them before it all ends in tragedy?
This one-shot special sets the stage for the AMERICAN VAMPIRE relaunch later this year!

<3 THAT COVER!
Why is this $6.99?
i think its 64 pages
Well that’s more then fair in that case.
There’s another one like this coming out in August. 80 pages, $8.
That’s the anthology? I’m really psyched about that one. I didn’t know they were doing a one shot as well. I’ll take it though.
It’s about time this itch got scratched. Been fiending for more AV. Even twitching a little.
Same here
Just reread Death Race and YES! Travis Kidd is badass, and I can’t wait to see that sword in action. I wonder how this will tie-in to last issue and the to the story when it return to monthlies.
I’ve only read the first 2 trades but I love this series. I will keep getting this in trade format though.
I really dig the way Albuquerque draws female faces, there is something about his use of expression and line that is just beautiful.
First “American Vampire” story I’ve ever read, believe it or not. Enjoyed it immensely. Loved the 50s flavor. The storytelling was engaging and the artwork was amazing. Great stuff!
You are in for some good times, highly recommend both the mini-series as well, all very good work.
This was bittersweet, I loved getting a new–and great–AV chapter, but man I wish the series proper was coming back sooner. I’m pumped for the anthology issue too, but my appetite won’t be sated till this is back on a monthly schedule. It was great to see Travis back in action, and Albuquerque & McCaig delivered some gorgeous pages as expected.
I think I’m due for a re-read, that should help.
