AMERICAN VAMPIRE #12

In this lost tale of Skinner Sweet, it’s 1924 when the first American vampire crosses paths with a Wild West show featuring some old pals and enemies from his outlaw days – and he is not happy. From the dying West to flying biplanes, we see how Skinner adjusts to life in the 20th century.

Featuring stunning art by Danijel Zezelj (NORTHLANDERS, LUNA PARK).

  1. Cool cover, but the layout on the letters instantly reminded me of Scott Pilgrim.

  2. Think I’m going to jump back on. I stopp with the second or third cos while the main story was great, King’s was pretty terrible. This is still getting good buzz and Zezelj is interesting, so I’ll give it another shot.

  3. I’m really digging this series but I was thinking of going back to waiting for hardovers, it’s nice to have a whole story and it’s cheaper. Gonna get this and see how I feel.

  4. This cover is drool worthy

  5. I dropped it with #7. I just went back and read #1-10, holy crap what was wrong with me??? Going to the shop this Wednesday to grab this and #11 and I’m back!

  6. Looking foreward to seeing Zezelj on this book.

  7. So good! I’ll be happily getting the monthlies for a while longer 🙂 Zezelj is a hit or a miss for me as his (I think it’s a guy, at least) style can sometimes be distracting in its lack of certain detail. I thought it fit this issue perfectly though, great great comic booking here!

  8. I loved the ending with the ex-lover. I’m really looking forward to seeing Skinner in the new era!

  9. I bought and read the first issue and loved it. But wanted to read it in trade form. I know a hardcover is out, but am still waiting for a softcover version. But I really want to read this series.

  10. Get the hardcover off amazon, it’s great! Plus, I don’t know if they’re planning on doing softcovers for this series at the moment. Up to you though…

  11. This was really well written, great dialogue and narrative. More than just a fill-in issue, more of a bridge between stories. I thought the art was great. Different than Ablequerque, but not jarringly so and really well done.

Wish the next arc was in Europe, but sometimes I think that’s been over-done. I’m just more interested in the European theater. WWI would be cool, but since Baltimore just did that, I wonder if that had any influence on this being in the Pacific?
