  1. This and Thunderbolts are my favorite Marvel titles.

  2. I’m only reading 3 Marvel titles right now, and am thoroughly enjoying this blast from my early days of comic book reading. I hope we get an ongoing series out of this.

  3. It has been officialy changed to an ongoing; Yeah!! This is probably thee best book Marvel has right now art and story wise I have given 4.5’s every month closing in on 5’s. The fact that it is going to be ongoing series will push it into the perfect 5 rating for me!! Love this book wish Marvel had more to offer like this as far as quality goes instead of quantity!!

    Just sayin’,

    K

  4. I pick up the odd Avengers title — kinda enjoyed New Avengers annual for the all too infrequent Wonder Man appearance, but Bendis Avengers just really never appealed to me. Thunderbolts gets better and better and it’s nice to have the classic Flight back.

  5. This is the best Alpha Flight story ever. John Byrne’s were the best, but his stories were never about Alpha Flight, but instead about individual members. This is actually the first really good team story they’ve ever had.

Art is really really good in spots, for example, Aurora’s booty when coming down the ladder!

But the best part of this issue was EASILY the Puck sequences. A W E S O M E! The writer really “gets” what it is about Judd is so cool. I hope we get to see Judd interact with other international street-level bad-asses like Nick Fury, Black Widow, etc…the bits w/ Taskmaster were really fun. I totally want to see a lot more Wolvernine/Puck by the way.

  6. Surprised at the love here. Alpha Flight #5 was simply awful, in every respect (except for the art, which was a-ok). The story makes no sense, is totally stupid. The characters never act like themselves, and are pulled along at the whim of an incredibly stupid storyline.

A cover with Alpha Flight all carrying guns? Alpha Flight robbing a bank? The writers have no clue about what their characters stand for, nor about Canada in general.

Glad it’s being cancelled if this is what they’re doing with this once great team.

  7. The most fun I’ve had reading Alpha Flight since the John Byrne glory days. So ridiculous that Marvel isn’t picking this up as an ongoing. The creative team is on a roll here, and they totally “get” the characters, especially Puck. If Marvel changes their mind, I’m there with bells on.
