ALAN MOORE NEONOMICON #2 (OF 4)

The second issue of the all-new, all Alan Moore, horror series spoken of only in hushed whispers for years is finally here! From the award-winning master of comics, Alan Moore, comes a brand new tale of Lovecraftian horror that will leave you too afraid to close your eyes, but more afraid to open them! NEONOMICON, the sequel to THE COURTYARD Graphic Novel, is slithering its way onto shelves to take its place as a Great Old One of comics terror! Illustrated by Moore’s favorite demented artist, Jacen Burrows, NEONOMICON pulls no punches as every full-colored page is covered in nightmares brought to gruesome life! In the wake of a gruesome homicide and an impossible vision in the courtyard, Agents Brears and Lamper are understandably rattled, but more determined than ever to find answers. Now, their case is taking them literally and literarily through Lovecraftian mythos, to Salem, Massachusetts as they try to unravel the secrets of sex, drugs, murder, and the ever-creeping darkness…

  1. It’s been so long! The first issue was very very solid, if not spectacular.

Then I saw this two part youtube video, blew me away. Sure, some of it could probably be applied to most comics, but some of it was really clever. Specifically, toward the end of the issue when they start mentioning the gutter, and the creepy scene with the wall.

I’ll be reading issue 2 with an eye out for it, this will be the litmus test to see if these concepts continue throughout, and even become more apparent.

Also, more Lovecraft is always good.

  2. I just read The Courtyard for the first time about a month ago.  It was awesome!  I will definately be wanting to get Neonomicon now!

  3. I am already creeped out. Yeh. Ick. Shudder.

  4. I saw that YouTube video as well. Really looking forward to this after that.

  5. I like Moore I LOVE lovecraft I passed on this, the rating makes me think I was right

  6. This book is messed up. 😛

  7. It could have done with another couple of pages of storyline and couple of pages less sex.

  8. After reading this, I don’t think I’ll ever be clean, no matter how long I shower or how hard I scrub.

  9. This. Was. Repulsive.

    Loved it. 😀

Can’t wait for the final two issues.

  10. I’m thinking dream sequence. Come-on you can’t have THAT in the second book.

I don’t think that I ever read a comic that graphic or with that visual theme.

  11. Now that was a comic book!

    I feel slightly sick…

  12. @loki2486 – Yeah, I was gobsmacked, I have no idea where this is going.

  13. I feel…. violated…

  14. Very graphic sexually, very creepy. The Cthulu themed sex shop did make me laugh quite a bit.

  15. only allan moore could do this.on a side not did that chick take a load from the monster?

  16. Read the entire comic again…

It has got to be a dream/vision sequence… things were just too weird and not sensible… yeah even with this theme.  What happened to the back-up feds?  Who would follow strangers into a basement to a creepy pool?  Who would remove their contacts and be blinded during a sting?  Why aren’t they wired?  ‘I forgot my allergy medicine’… poor excuse.  AND why is it the black dude always ripped with no body fat and the white dudes looked sloppy fat or bean-pole skinny?  Does one of the white dudes look kinda like Jim Butcher author of the Drensden Files?

  17. Dresden Files… spelling…

  18. For some reason my shop didn’t get this and I forgot about it, d’oh.
