  1. I don’t get it.

  2. What don’t you get? Why this issue exists? Someone thought enough people would buy it to make it worth printing. Also, I think the extra issues amp up the ‘Event’-ness of the crossover, so the core issues (Legacya nd N.M.) might sell better as well.

    If you don’t get the story… well… I can’t help you there.

  3. What I don’t get is how this story exists if the rest of the universe apart from the people on Utopia are trapped in the box, and there is no “Age Of X Universe” outside Fortress X

  4. There is no Age of X Universe. It’s all being made up in the 616 Legion’s mind, so this book is history he’s making up for the people in his head.

That, or I REALLY misunderstood the issue that explained everything.

  5. @ Slockhart yea that’s what i’m gathering from it.

  6. @Slockhart  I think you’re close, but not quite 100% there.

The Moira aspect of Legion’s mind had her own powers, which included the power to create a new reality/universe.  She created the Age of X universe from scratch, leaving a lot of bits out.  Some of the bits she didn’t leave out were the stories in the universe series, which tie into the others.  So all of these versions of the characters existed, but as the universe Moira created began to focus on only the Fortress X, the rest was erased from existance.

What we end up with in the stories of the Universe series is what happened to other characters outside of the X-Family leading up to the ultimate melt-down of their entire universe.  Ruth Aldine (I forget her codename) put it best in New Mutants #24: “They thought they were real.  They lived for a day, like butterflies.  They died not knowing.”

So the rest of the reality thought it was real while it existed, but at some point ceased to exist any longer.

  7. Thought this was awesome, some powerful stuff. Gather the one using the blades was the Black Widow version of the Age of X uni.

    Liked Walta’s stylistic art.

Didn’t like Chuck Kim’s prior work, but this was good.
