Paul Pope backup story this issue! I saw a preview and it looks great. It’s exciting to seem some work from him as he continues to devote most of his time on his upcoming Battling Boy books.
Any new Pope is a good thing, might have to grab this, Battling Boy seems like a lifetime away sometimes
Yeah, it’s been quite a wait for sure. It sounds like Pope is intimately involved in the production of the Battling Boy movie as well as writing and drawing the whole book and this has led the project to take longer than it potentially could have. But if we can get a killer new Paul Pope book with extended action sequences AND a Paul Pope-fueled movie, I’d say it’s worth the wait. I’m just glad he’s waiting until he’s finished to release anything. That’s the mark of a responsible creator to me. I’d rather not get 3 or 4 issues in and then be left hanging for years like other creators who will not be named have made me.
