ADVENTURE COMICS returns to its historical numbering with this issue just in time for Paul Levitz to retell the Legion’s origins! Everything begins on a somber note reflecting on the past with “The Last Will and Testament of R.J. Brande”!

Also, this issue begins an all-new co-feature starring The Atom, which continues the story begun in this month’s BRIGHTEST DAY: THE ATOM SPECIAL #1 as Jeff Lemire (SWEET TOOTH) launches Ray Palmer into an exciting new adventure smack-dab in the middle of the DCU.

  1. I think this is a great idea for getting new people into the Legion.  I think I’ll skip it because I feel like I’ve read this story a million times already.  I’ve been reading LOSH since i was 8 years old, so I think I have their origin down.

  2. @zattaric – But you’ll miss Jeff Lemire’s Atom!

  3. Only getting this for the Atom.

  4. I’ll give this book one more chance, though I didn’t much care for Levitz’s first issue.

  5. I liked the last issue, and The Atom Special was pretty cool–definitely looking forward to this.

  6. Trying it for The Atom and hoping the main story hooks me too.

  7. @Pozerdu  That doesn’t appeal to me at all.

  8. Only getting this for the Atom. How many times can they retell the Legion’s origin? Boring

  9. I think I’m the opposite of everyone here. I’m in this for the Legion, and I will (if that one-shot is any indication) suffer through the mediocre Atom back-up.

  10. See I really enjoyed The Atom Special. I’m a huge Lemire fan and wasn’t familiar with Atom’s origin/backstory plus it had a mystery hook that made me pick up this issue to see what happens next.

even if the main story is awful I will buy this for palmer

  12. @ CaseyJustice–I’m with you, here fo the LSH and Levtz. Based on last week’s extremely lame Atom special the  backup is, and will probably remain, unread.

  13. Main story was ok. It was annoying that Brande always talked with that wierd accent. The Atom backup was great. I love the Atom as the 2nd fastest man alive.

  14. yeah I had to reread many panels because of the Brande speak…wasn’t quite Jar-Jar but it was getting close to as annoying.

  15. Bought it for the Atom story, and it was great. Atom should be the main on this.

  16. @CaptDS9E I concur.

  17. I am getting this for the Legion but was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Atom story.  I just hope Paul Levitz’s writing picks up in future issues as I am not enjoying the Legion as much as I am in the main book.
