Anyone know if I’ll understand this having read 0 Hellboy or B.P.R.D.??
I’m sure this will be easy to drop in. These Abe Sapien stories are typically stand alone stories, not based on any current Hellboy or BPRD storyline.
If you’ve seen the movie, or just know who Abe Sapien is, you should be straight.
I’ll be honest, I’m picking this up because of the Francesco Francavilla variant cover.
I just can’t turn down anything with his art – will probably even grab that Archie meets KISS miniseries as long as he’s doing the covers..
Yup, Francavilla is a badass. It would be really cool if someday he did interiors on a Mignolaverse book. The story is pretty cool so far, and James Harren drew some beautiful pages(House on the lake). This is another solid start to a new creeped-out investgation with Abe.
i love the mignola stuff, but i was gonna pass on this until i thumbed through it at the shop. HOLY SHIT! they came with the violence in this one. after i picked it up, i couldnt put it down. 5 outa 5
I thumbed through it, too, but it looked like half the book was dialogue-free fight scenes. That didn’t make me wanna fork over my 3.50.

I just finished this and it’s my pick of the week. Absolutly fantastic! This is perfect comic horror writing in my opinion.
