This was my favorite episode of the series, by far.
Really, really interesting character study and super tragic at the end when M’gann “revealed” herself to the team. Great stuff.
Great episode! Megan’s reveal that she took her name/actions from the tv show and the weird factor of her naming Conner after the character on the show was really well done. Her fears about her teammates finding out about her being a White Martian was a great scene, and she apparently is a lot stronger than she has lead us to believe.
As for the whole “J’onn’s not really my uncle” thing, my original theory was that M’gann used her powers to alter J’onn’s memories to make him believe she’s his niece and so she can go to Earth, but maybe that’s not true since she said J’onn was the one sending the Hello Megan broadcasts to Mars in the first place. So maybe it’s not that weird that one of J’onn’s brothers/sisters are/married a white martian? Or a white martian silently joined a family by altering memories about, since her mental and psychic powers seem to be pretty great at white martian level. idk. But that’s my fanboy guess 🙂
i think the he knows. remember his words in her mind. “there is no place on earth for you now” also remember Megan’s telling Conner that white martians are repressed people? i think he smuggled her to earth to give her a better life. J’onn people still live but maybe his family, his daughter?, died and lets say Megan is her age. i would think he would think “how would i hope someone would treat my daughter?” and maybe save her by taking her to earth.
Better than almost all the comics DC are putting out.
I have to hand it to the writer(s): I couldn’t care less about Miss Martian before this episode, and now she breaks my heart. Great stuff. I also liked this episode because Aqualad (aka Human Sominex) wasn’t in it.
Wow, creepiest issue so far. I have so much emotions I don’t know what to feel.
Not sure if I sympathise Megan or if I somehow relate to it.
This just makes everything so much more exciting. I cant imagine Megan would still lie to everyone about it. But I understand how she feels as well. Wow.
My wife, who only reads my non-super hero books, really likes this series. That’s got to be a positive for the show as it’s good enough to appeal to a demographic that isn’t really into super hero’s. I’m hoping she’ll want to read more than just American Vampire and Fables because of her like of this series but I haven’t pushed the idea yet.
WOW! Dealing with actual teen issues of self-image and secrets was really well done and i think younger viewers will relate to it despite the heavy emotions. Also love that way of modernising beast boys origin, actually makes more sense that he would know of so many animals and give a real connection to the current team considering how it seems there’s no Doom Patrol in this universe.
eriously think this episode should be nominated for awards.
