I don't care if you just fired up the Undead Nightmare expansion for Red Dead Redemption. Press pause and have a look at this trailer for The Sixth Gun, the occult western comic from Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt. It's a book we don't talk nearly enough about, but here's hoping you'll saddle up. The trailer does a great job of capturing the eery atmosphere of the series, which ought to appeal to fans of both Hellboy and Jonah Hex. And note the praise from Jason Aaron and horror legend Joe R. Lansdale. For me, that's a 'nuff said. Either way, give this a look, then try the book. Some quality stuff from Oni comics and two extremely talented storytellers.

This is a great series. I haven’t mentioned this before, though maybe someone has, but it also reminds me a lot of Lord of the Rings spun as a Western. It’s got that same epic adventure feel, and the spooky occult elements connecting everything feel not unlike the Eye of Sauron turning on you…
Plus, in one issue, a Thunderbird swooped down and wreaked havoc. I mean, c’mon!!!
I am looking forward to going home for Thanksgiving so I can read all the issues together.

Lovin the series more and more. The last two issues in particular have really kicked things into high gear.
I loved the first few issues and it was FCBD that turned me on to the series. I’m a sucker for western comics and everyone knows my affinity for Jonah Hex. However, my crappy LCS never gets these anymore. So I’ll be trade waiting unless I pick these up in another comic shop an hour away sometime.
a full motion ad for a comic is so jarring to me. i’ve read and LOVE 6h gun, and while watching that trailer i couldn’t stop myself from thinking it looked stupid. If i’d never read it, the trailer probably would have turned me off, which is upsetting to me, cause its a really fun comic. It may be that im a critical prick or something, but i think someone needs to think tank how to advertise comics properly.
This series is awesome. If you aren’t reading it, you are missing out. This would make a good movie too!
