It’s always nice to see our favorite creators get some ink, and The Comics Journal has given a lot of ink to Eddie Campbell. This is just an excerpt of what looks to be a very in depth and lengthy discussion with the behind the art of From Hell among his other works. Looks like The Comics Journal is worth picking up this month.
Eddie Campbell is a stand up guy whose always been very nice to us when we’ve seen him at the cons. If you haven’t checked out his work beyond From Hell, I strongly recommend it, as he has some great books out there.

While I’ve read some of his work, and I respect it, I do find it’s rather esoteric, and it’s a lot like an avante-gard film equivalent in comics. But it’s not easy stuff at all. But his work is unlike any other in comics.
