“Not a very popular place with the panels.”
“My kinda place. I always liked country boys. They’re sure as hell don’t like you.”
Orc Stain #7
By James Stokoe
One thing you’ll hear about in Orc Stain is all the stunning vistas and detail, but this shot contrasted that, by showing a really interesting bit of movement, while playing with foreground and background, and movement all in a single panel. The result of that panel is crushed in the second panel, obviously in a tactile squish that Stokoe is also very good at.

Batman Beyond Unlimited #1
By Adam Beechen, Norm Breyfogle, Andrew Elder, & Saida Temofonte
It was so so good to see Norm Breyfogle drawing Bruce Wayne again. So good.
— Conor Kilpatrick
Invincible #89
By Robert Kirkman & Ryan Ottley
Dinosaurus is working with delicate chemicals with his ridiculous clawed hands. This is my favorite panel ever.
— Josh Flanagan
The Shade #5
By James Robinson, Javier Pulido, Hilary Sycamore, & Todd Klein
It’s official: having someone’s face skinned is the newest comic book trend.

Orc Stain #7
By James Stokoe
This is a two page spread. Don’t you just want to roll around in it all day?
— Paul Montgomery
Justice League #6
By Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, Scott Williams (or maybe Sandra Hope, Batt, or Mark Irwin), Alex Sinclair (or maybe Tony Avina or Hi-Fi), & Patrick Brosseau
For my money, it’s still hard to top Superman flying into Darkseid at full speed for dramatic, dynamic moments.

FF #15
By Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta, Chris Sotomayor, & Clayton Cowles
The sequence in the background made me laugh so much that I forgot to read the foreground dialogue and I had to go back.
— Conor Kilpatrick
Scalped #56
By Jason Aaron, R.M. Guera, & Guilia Brusco
It’s hard to get used to seeing Dash with hair. Really hard.

Good choices but the best of the week to me is in the Ultimates. That panel with the hulk was awesome.
Are you talking about the panel where Hulk is mainly in shadow and holding his cup of tea?
That was very good
Yeah man. That was crazy awesome.
agreed. the tone was perfect.
I love that Invinible panel. So damn comicbooky.
For some reason the Orc Stain art doesn’t do much for me. I have no explanation.
the ASM panel where peter ruined dancing with the stars, the world series and the walking dead for human torch was fun.
I feel like such an ass for not buying Orc Stain. I will remedy that tomorrow.
Ditto. I was putting it off because I for some reason got a really huge “Four Eyes” vibe from it. I really didn’t want to go through that again but imt l looks like this is coming out quite solidly. The joys of digital.
You’re talking about Joe Kelly’s Four Eyes? I’ve got that on my wish list, actually. The art looks great.
Yeah. Don’t expect any real resolution to the plot or anything with Four Eyes. It’s four issues long with fantastic art but I would be very surprised to see an issue of it ever again.
FF is my favorite of these listed. It made me laugh
I love it how Conor doesn’t mention what is going on in that panel. Why is there an army of cats, psychotic even, who’s out to kill people? That panel alone makes me wanna buy the issue.
Also, if James Stokoe’s comics were JUST two pages long….I’d be okay with that.
Didn’t Bruce just describe every cat, ever in that panel?
I’m with you Conor, I couldn’t get used to Dash with hair either.
The panel of Superman flying into Darkseid was the first time I heard John Williams’ score while reading a DCnU book.
Breyfogle, sweeeet!
Seeing that panel with Dash just gets me more sick about how SCALPED is going to end.
No Human Torch singing Friday?
Your pick from Invincible was the wrong one, it should have been Bulletproof in the costume replicating that classic panel of Mark.
yeah his opinion of his favorite panel is totally wrong
that’s exactly how opinions work right?
Dinosaurus is no Doctor Dinosaur.
This two-page spread in Justice League #6 was the first time since the reboot that Superman really felt like Superman for me.
