Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design. Your friends, up there on the sanctuary moon, are walking into a trap, as is your Rebel fleet. It was *I* who allowed the Alliance to know the location of the shield generator. It is quite safe from your pitiful little band. An entire legion of my best troops awaits them. Oh, I’m afraid the panels will be quite operational when your friends arrive.
All-New X-Men #7
By Brian Michael Bendis, David Marquez, Marte Garcia, & Cory Petit
I love the little touch that the visor is uncomfortable to wear almost as much as I love Scott’s giant 80s ruby quartz glasses.
Green Arrow #17
By Jeff Lemire, Andrea Sorrentino, & Rob Leigh
Now THIS is how I want a Green Arrow book to look.
Snapshot #1
By Andy Diggle, Jock, & Clem Robbins
No one makes dramatic and moody look quite as cool as Jock.
The Phantom Stranger #5
By Dan Didio, J.M. DeMatteis, Brent Anderson, Philip Tan with Rob Hunter, Ulises Arreola, & Travis Lanham
The clash of these two titans has been the highpoint of this series so far.
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #20
By Brian Michael Bendis, Sara Pichelli, Justin Ponsor, & Cory Petit
As great as David Marquez is (see above) this book really does come alive when Sarah Pichelli is drawing it.
Smallville: Season 11 #10
By Bryan Q. Miller, Jorge Jimenez, Carrie Strachan, & Saida Temofonte
Yeah you do!
Honorable mention –> Young Iceman’s remarks about Unus the Untouchable. I will say no more.
@trobinson79 I totally agree! I hadn’t literally LOL’ed while reading a comic in a while but this scene got me good.
I agree, it’s been awhile since a comic made me laugh while I’m reading it, but All-New X-men has been doing it for me.
Now THIS is how I want a Green Arrow book to look.
You mean like Hawkeye?
Zing.
And not a single mention of it in the review!
you also mean like Iron Fist?
I personally loved Frankenstein as a Green Lantern in Animal Man #17
agreed. there were lots of good panels in that issue. looks like no one here read it
I agree. I think Animal Man #17 had a lot of great panels.
It’s a pity I can’t say the same thing about this week’s Swamp Thing. Belanger’s art was a poor choice for the rotworld finale, and it kind of killed the issue for me.
I hope Jorge Jimenez will be on Smallville again. I’ll always read this, partly because i enjoy it and partly because its Smallville but some of the art so far has made my eyes hurt a lil’.
I feel like there should be more panels with this list. I saw a lot of other really great panels this week.
Until Wednesday, I didn’t know how much I missed those big honkin Ruby Quartz glasses. Bendis keeps on putting the layers of the Scott Summers I loved
More best of panels and more best of covers. Great choices in both this week but a few more in each would suffice.
