Reality TV Meets Stan Lee in ‘Who Wants To Be a Superhero?’

I’m surprised it even took this long, but the Sci-Fi Channel announced a new reality show Who Wants To Be a Superhero? for which casting as begun, and like a moth to a flame, Stan Lee is involved.

I think Spidermav should try out.

I can’t say I’m psyched for this, as most if not all reality TV programming is just the worst. But at least the good news is that its on Sci Fi and its only 6 episodes, so literally no one will watch it other than those who try out and their families. And Stan Lee. And maybe Bendis.

But seriously, does anyone want to watch people dressing up in costumes and pretending to be superheroes? Besides the staff at Wizard? I sure don’t.

  1. Now what’s the prize? Hopefully it’s to become a real crime fighter in NYC. Man that person’s so dead.

  2. What I can’t figure out is why so called “reality” television is on the Sci-fi Channel to begin with. Isn’t Sci-fi supposed to be short for science FICTION!!!

  3. That’s just was logic would have you believe

  4. Oh man, I should totally do this. LA is like, an hour drive away from my location. But now all I need is a Super hero identity!!

Although…if I DO appear on this show, it’s guaranteed I won’t have any dates from now until i’m at least 32…

  5. Spidermav – this is your calling

Extra cool points if you get a plug on tv for iFanboy.com!

  6. I feel like this show will be so bad and embarrassing for comic fans and the comic industry that just having it on TV will reduce my chances of getting laid.

  7. Man, now THAT would be low….

Seriously, I love Stan Lee, but he adds very little hipness factor to anything.

As far as Sci-Fi doing reality, more power to them to grow their audience. As long as they can stay in business and get me episodes of Battlestar Galactica, they can use the other 23 hours to run Leonard Nimoy’s Fishing Challenge and Poetry Slam.

  8. Remember when Stan Lee was going to make online comics based on the guys in *NSync?

    I’m telling you…it’s Weekend at Bernie’s with that guy…

My thoughts EXACTLY. And the fact that i’m reading comics in the first place isn’t exactly helping that fact…

But you know…I could be on television, pimping iFanboy to no end…Maybe I should tag random buildings around the set: “Who watches the iFanboys?”

Get your meta-tags ready for google…

My friend, when you get older, girls will think it’s “cute”. If anyone knows, it’s me. Just hang in there.
