PREVIEW: Mutant Bin Laden Terrorizes SAVAGE DRAGON #177

Just in time for the holidays, Erik Larsen, Image Comics co-founder and writer/artist of Savage Dragon, delivers the Christmas present we didn’t know we wanted, Giant Mutated Osama Bin Laden in the pages of Savage Dragon!

If anything, Savage Dragon has earned the reputation of being completely unpredictable and downright surprising.  This isn’t the first time that Larsen has worked real world figures into the pages of Savage Dragon, such as when Savage Dragon endorsed Barack Obama for president (which also yielded a variant cover of Savage Dragon #145 where Obama is seen punching Bin Laden in the face!). But this time, it’s a much more menacing threat as the former terrorist leader of Al Qaeda is back, enormous and out to destroy America.  The only people left to stop him are Malcom and Battle Girl. This is one battle I wouldn’t want to miss, nor do I want to miss the awesome, retro cover of this issue.

Image Comics provided an extended preview of this issue, which goes on sale tomorrow, December 21st, 2012 for $3.50.  Check out the 9 page preview below, after the solicitation information for Savage Dragon #177

Comments

  1. Okay now this I can jump on board. I love Dragon and the unpredicability that comes with it. A giant mutant Bin Laden is what we need as a bad guy, it brings us back to the 40’s when they put all the bad guys on the cover getting pucnh the hell out by our favorite heroes.

  2. I thought Bin Laden was dead? and the proportions are all wrong Erik.. He doesnt look 6’6 on that cover at all. Really dropping the ball.. man! I wont even comment on the green skin.

  3. Geez no love for Erik eh?

  4. Erik has done everything possible in comics and then some in the pages of Dragon, this is gonna be a groovy Wednesday.
