The ever expanding empire of The Walking Dead continues to deliver. Earlier this week, my Twitter stream was filled with reactions of friends playing the latest chapter in The Walking Dead episodic game from Telltale Games. With that game wrapped up for now, I’m sure many of those same friends are looking for a new The Walking Dead video game fix. Well, the wait is over.
Today the new iOS game, The Walking Dead: Assault, was released to the masses. Skybound Entertainment released the game in partnership with the developers at Gamagio, who created The Walking Dead: Assault. The game picks up the world of The Walking Dead early in the story, around the time of The Walking Dead Volume 1: Days Gone Bye. The overhead fighting game lets you choose your character from Rick, Lori, Carl, Glenn, Shane, Andrea, Carol, Sophia or Dale. Each character has unique abilities that will help to fight the hordes of zombies coming at you in either Atlanta, the campsite or other locations. Utilizing a mix of 3D art and art from the comic book series, gameplay lets you unlock even more exclusive content ranging from artwork and wallpapers to behind the scenes info, even GameCenter achievements.
The Walking Dead: Assault is available in the iTunes App Store for the iPad and iPhone for $1.99. But act now, because that $1.99 is a special launch discounted price, which will go up to $2.99 shortly after the launch.
