Light Week? Try Criminal: The Last of the Innocent #1, 50 Girls 50 #1, and Flashpoint: Batman: Knight of Vengeance #1

Heard any good comic news lately?

Josh says try:

Criminal: The Last of the Innocent #1

By Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips

It's the best crime book on the market and the best selling too. And I missed it. As with all of Criminal, you can jump on whenever. There's a loose continuity and recurring characters, but the stories work on their own. Also, I love Sean Phillips' art so much. He's as good a storyteller as we have, and his pages look like no one else's. Incognito was good, but Criminal is where these guys shine.

Ron says try:

50 Girls 50 #1

By Frank Cho & Doug Murray, Axel Medellin

I've always been a fan of science fiction and I've always been a fan of women, so I can't think of a better combination than what writers Frank Cho and Doug Murray and artist Axel Medellin have cooked up in 50 Girls 50.  A spaceship full of beautiful women working their way back home.  Simple as that and guaranteed to be a fun romp.

Conor says try:

Flashpoint: Batman: Knight of Vengeance #1

By Brian Azzarello & Eduardo Risso

Well, these Flashpoint books all suddenly got a bit more interesting, didn't they? But even before the big announcement, this was probably the tie-in with the most heat on it, courtesy of 100 Bullets and the Wednesday Comics Batman story creative team Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso. One thing's for sure: you're probably not going to want to mess with Thomas Wayne.

Comments

  1. Grab the Citizen Rex HC from Dark Horse. Mario and Gilbert Hernandez. Great stuff.

  2. I grabbed Batman, cause it’s Azzerlo and Risso.

  3. great ideas gents

  4. Checked out 50 Girls 50 in the store. Not feeling it. Nice art, but just a little too much pandering for me.
