IFANBOY PICK OF THE WEEK PODCAST #550! LIVE!

Come here TODAY, Thursday August 25 at 8:30pm ET / 5:30pm PT to join us in a grand iFanboy tradition — a live broadcast of the iFanboy Pick of the Week Podcast!

We will be using Google+ Hangout to capture the video and we will embed a player in this post so that you can watch it here. We will also be embedding a chat room widget here so people can follow along the action. The video will also be available to watch live on on our YouTube page, and that page will also have a chat room, but we will only be paying attention to the chat room embedded here.

(Don’t worry, if you can’t watch the live show or if you don’t want to watch the live show, we will of course be releasing the audio version as we normally do on Sunday and the video will be archived on our YouTube page.)

  1. Chorizo or chouriço is a type of pork sausage. It isn’t a meal. The plural of sausage is sausages.
The plural of Chorizo IS Chorizos.

Easy buddy- NPR is a hell of a drug.

I am a big fan of Giffen and stil think he has it after the Justic League 3000 stuff. But I do Not think he had Jaime’s voice and not the cultutural issues more the idea that no teenager is going to say things like “No moss grows on you.”

    Thanks for the ep.

  2. Also Ron Richards is his own spirit animal– http://imgur.com/a/EJMr9

Either that or a genie from a 60’s tv sitcom.

  3. Connor is right about the pronunciation of ‘GIF’.

    Here’s the proof: http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/22/tech/web/pronounce-gif/

I realize that savvy, well-informed folks such as yourselves, Ron and Josh, were already aware of this video, yet despite the creator’s claims to the contrary, you both still choose to declare that the correct pronunciation is with a hard ‘G’. This got me thinking, do you guys treat artistic intent within comics the same way? Of course there are certain things that are meant to be interpreted by the reader, but If a writer or artist definitively states his or her intentions in creating a character or event, it seems silly to deny their position.

    • Sorry, *Conor

    • Yeah- No

Let me ask you – how many Jigabaytes of memory do you have on your phone?
I don’t care some eccentric coder wants to mangle the straight forward pronunciation of consonants and vowels together.
      It’s Gah-if
He invented a file format not a the English language.

Language works by collective decisions on how words are used and pronounced.
