San Diego Comic-Con is upon us!
Beginning Wednesday July 17th through Sunday July 21th, hundreds of thousands of people will be descending on the beautiful city of San Diego, CA for comics, movies, television, video games and all the other forms of entertainment that can be crammed in that damn convention center.
The iFanboy crew, as we have for the past 12 years (minus 2003), will be at Comic-Con in full force! Well, not everyone. This year, it’ll just be Conor Kilpatrick from the iFanboy editorial team who will be in attendance. But along with him there will be a passel of iFanboy staffers on-hand! Our faithful companion Gordon The Intern, staff writers Molly McIsaac, Mike Romo, Gabe Roth, and Ryan Haupt will all be in attendance!
Now here’s the bad news. There will be no video shows from San Diego this year. With Ron gone at Image Comics, Josh staying at home with his family, and Paul on the TSA’s no-fly list, Conor can’t handle the camera and the the interviews all by himself. He’s not Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. We’ll still report all the news that’s fit to print (and some that isn’t) but there will be no wacky video action this year.
There will be some events and happenings where you can come meet us and hang out. We’ve met a ton of great people in San Diego over the years and we hope to meet all of you this year!

We had such a blast last year at our Happy Hour we decided to return to the Andaz’s roof deck for another great party. This year we invite you to the iFanboy Cocktail Hour!

The biggest name I got to meet last year was Patrick Gleason(Artist for Batman and Robin). Was very cool and a lot of fun though.

Am so bummed to have to miss SDCC this year – especially for the great Podcasters Panel, which Josh hosted last year with such aplomb. Also sad to miss the Andaz rooftop mixer. It was just last year (or maybe the year before?) when I got to meet Charles Soule there, and talk about his ogn “27.” He wasn’t very well known then… and here we are like five minutes later and the guy’s practically writing HALF of DC’s titles! 🙂
