Sometime in 2006, the United States Postal Service will be issuing commemorative stamps featuring characters and comic book covers from DC Comics!
I believe, I say, I believe that there is no way on Earth I won’t be buying a sheet or two of those stamps. Perhaps I’ll get one to keep and one to use. Not that I ever send anything via snail mail anymore except holiday cards. And for all you stamp lovers out there, here’s a complete list of all of the commemorative stamps in 2006.

Those are cool looking. I like that they have many eras covered, I would have thought that something like this would have all been Golden Age, but there’s Jim Lee’s Batman in the top line and Neal Adams Green Arrow. That’s a nice set. And I am sure that the postal service expects us to use them to mail things and isn’t hoping to make money off of all of us that will frame a sheet (or two) and hang it up in our office…
I didn’t expect to utter the word “awesome” with such excitedment when looking at those.

Yeah the stamps here are boring, the Queen isn’t exactly pretty.

Then I wonder if I’m the one who must ask, is it a good thing that our public postal system is being used to promote the properties of a private corporate entity? Like them as we might, is that not some sort of unfair favoritism? I’m just sayin’ is all…..
They promote private corporate entities all the time. You haven’t used stamps in a while, have you? 🙂

yes… OFF WITH HIS HEAD. However, they have continually updated the stamps as the Queen has got older… she now has a double-chin, which is very amusing.
We do have ‘novelty’ stamps at christmas and for Anniversaries of stuff. I am sure there will be an adundance of ‘England to win WC 06’ campaign type stamps.

They’d have to be worthy of it, but sure. I could see some sort of anniversary Pepsi stamp happening.

That’s actually pretty cool. Do they update it every year? You could create an interesting collage with the stamps and watch the Queen age through the various stages of life.
