Help Crowdsource an Eric Canete Art Book on Kickstarter

Fans of The End League and Iron Man: Enter the Mandarin artist Eric Canete's contributions to our Weekly Sketch Up series might be interested in a new Kickstarter initiative for a book called ENCOR[e].

While a premium quality 2009 coffee table book called PREMIER[e] exists, that collection of Canete's famed 90 minute sketches and commissions was limited to only 100 copies. It's an extreme rarity, and highly sought after. ENCORE[e] is an attempt to produce a more affordable companion piece to that first collection, with a print run of 1000 copies.

To make this a reality, the campaign is aiming for $15,500 to cover production costs. They're a long ways off at the time of this writing, but there's still around a month to go in the initiative. For a ten dollar pledge, you can secure a limited edition print. At the $50 level, you've just pre-ordered the book (Kickstarter will only charge you for your pledged amount if and only if the campaign reaches its target). That book will also be signed by Canete and will include the aforementioned print. There are several more incentives for larger pledges, and if you're one of those fans who's been vowing to someday pony up for a Canete commission, this is as good a time as any to lock in an exclusive piece of art, claim a copy of the book, and make the project happen.

Pledge today, because I wants me a copy and I'm sure many of you want one too.

  1. The chance to get a Canete commission is exactly why I pledged

  2. if this was the end of the summer I’d totally pledge, but sadly I am currently broke

  3. Yup a commission and a book in addition to funding dreams? Signed up.

  4. This is pretty awesome.  I’m definitely going to pledge, but must ponder just how far I want to go.  Thanks for giving us the heads up.

  5. had to pledge. canete is a favorite of mine and i am happy to see a new sketch of him every week in “weekly sketch up”. at first i wanted to pledge rather cheaply, then i considered getting a sketch from him. now i gotta keep my money together. 🙂
