Green Lantern_The Animated Series_Ranx

Enjoy it while you can, next week is the final episode!

Here’s how “Ranx” is described:

The Aya Monitor is after a secret weapon on the deserted planet Ranx, and sends a massive army of Manhunters to retrieve it. While Hal, Kilowog and Razer are ordered to the planet, the Green Lantern Corps, led by Guy Gardner, launch a simultaneous attack to beat her to it.

I look forward to your thoughts, opinions, gripes, live-blogging, etc.

  1. I’m gonna miss this,so much potential & room to grow.

    • That’s what I’m most disappointed with by the cancellation. The first season of any show is usually not it’s best. The creative team are still figuring out the characters and the show and what they can do with it but, by the end of the first season, they should have a good handle on how to make the show work for them. That’s what happened here. Watch this show from the beginning and you’ll see it evolve. The writers settling into the characters and the animators discovering what they can accomplish. By the end of the series they accomplished something truly great and if they were this good at the end of their first season, imagine what they could have done with a second.

  2. “The fake news guy?” Teehee, so good.

  3. Good episode, glad to see Guy Gardner again. Whoa, that felt weird to say. Razor once again got the funniest moments, how long till they bring him into the comics like Harley Quinn? So what happens when someone travels to the beginning of the Universe, in Aya’s case? Because in “JLU” John Stewart said that no one can see that, it breaks natural laws or something. And wouldn’t Aya erease herself from existence too, since she plans to eliminate the people who created her?

    • Would she care if she was also wiped from existence?

    • Seems like it would defeat the purpose of going back in time to eliminate organic life and fill the universe with machines instead. Look at it this way, in the “Terminator” movie series Skynet sends machines back in time to kill John Connor. Wether or not he lives doesn’t affect if Skynet is “born”, he just determines how long Skynet can exist. If Aya goes back in time and kills all organics, the Anti-monitor, the man-hunters, and herself, will never be created because the Guardians were never born to create them. It’s a rookie time travel mistake. I know she’s said a couple of times her plan is just fill the Universe with man-hunters for her to rule over.

    • Ah, your right, I forgot she said she wants the universe to be just Manhunters.

  4. Great episode. I always love seeing giant space battles and we got that in spades here. Kudos to the animators full pulling it off on their budget. It was cool that not only Guy returned, but some previously seen GL’s as well (always nice to see Tomar-re). Geez, Aya certainly doesnn’t waste time posturing does she? That was a surprisingly horrific way to dispatch of the Anti-Monitor.

    Sigh. Only one episode left.

  5. I totally missed the joke about the Fake Newsman. I will have to watch it again.

I loved how Aya just said she had a counter offer and pulled Anti-Monitor’s head apart. Nice.

As far as her going back to the creation, Aya looks like she will eliminate organic life. And she will probably bring a bunch of Manhunters with her. She probably knows how to make them and would then populate the universe with only herself. Sorta boring I would think, but universe conquering big bads probably like it that way.

  6. I wasn’t sure about this show when it first started. But by episode 3 I was hooked. This show kept getting better and better as time went along. I should have figured this (and Young Justice) was screwed when they launched the new season for 2 episodes then replaced it with a that How to Train Your Dragon show…then have the shows come back 3 months later and just continue like nothing happened. I’ve complained about crappy Saturday Morning Cartoons for a while…I’m finally satisfied with Green Lantern and Young Justice…and they kill them. 🙁

  7. So good story line…a crime in progress with his cancellation

  8. Another stellar episode, loved the “fake news guy” line. I’m seriously going to miss this when it’s gone.

  9. “Serenity now.”

  10. It’s too bad we won’t get another season, if only so that we can find out that the Anti-Monitor not only survived being beheaded, but that he also survived having his eyes gouged / his head cracked in half! #UniverseEatersNeverDie
