In the landscape of the Marvel U, there’s some threats that overshadow individual heroes, teams, or even worlds. Chief amongst them is the cosmic entity Galactus; more than a simple villain, he’s a force of nature and the oldest living creature in the Marvel Universe. But although he might be a cosmic being we can barely wrap our minds around, we as humans share one thing in common with him: eating.
And Galactus, well… he likes to eat. And his favorite food? Planets.
Although he can be malicious at times, Galactus’ primary objective in life is to roam the universe looking for his next meal. Like some sort of binge eater, Galactus crics-crosses the universe looking for planets like we would look for pizza. And his favorite topping for his globe-trotting gastronomical adventure? People.
With him scheduled to pull up a chair in this week's The Mighty Thor #2 and we think about Galactus turning the Nine Realms into a nine-course meal, let's revisit some of his most popular meals.
Archeopia, or “Baby’s First Meal”
After being the sole survivor of the universe here before the Big Bang, Galactus early years in our universe were spent growing and learning to control his powers. After his incubation ship drifted close to a planet called Archeopia, that planet’s people mistook the ship’s intrusion as an attack and struck out. As many civilizations have learned sense, don’t bring a fight to Galactus. Galactus summarily dining on his first planet-sized meal with Archeopia.
Skrull Throneworld Tarnax IV
After a successful coup by the Emperor's own wife, things on Tarnax IV seemed to be calming down… until Galactus comes for an all-you-can-eat. Galactus' then-herald Nova decimates the Skrull armada, and Galactus comes in and eats the planet whole, slurping up millions of Skrulls and the royal family along with it. If that wasn't bad enough, Galactus' wholesale consumption of the Skrull Throneworld was one of the key catalysts in causing Secret Invasion.
Earth
Although he's yet to eat our Earth, Galactus has come several times with a craving for us. In alternate universes seen in various What If? issues, the planetary devourer has eaten our home planet and sometimes even been eaten by us (see Marvel Zombies).
We know we've left some out, so you tell us: how, when and where did Galactus eat other planets in comics history?

Gaaaaalactus!!!!
He ate one or two planets in the Hulk books. They were infused with the Oldstrong Power, which is apparently the opposite of the Power Cosmic. Hence, belly ache for the big G.
Galactus should do a guest spot on A Taste of Comics.
i’d love to see Galactus on one of those Hometown Buffet commercials.
The question is: Would he eat Pluto?
I can’t take Galactus seriously. Especially not after Will Ferrell did Harry Caray on SNL:
Harry Caray: Yes! Hey! Now Ken we all know that the moon is not made of green cheese.
Dr. Ken Waller: Yes! That’s true Harry.
Harry Caray: But what if it were made of barbeque spare ribs would you eat it then?
Dr. Ken Waller: What!
Harry Caray: I know I would. Heck I’d have seconds. Then polish it off with a tall cool budweiser.
Galactus once ate the planet Poppup, home to the Impossible Man. It gave him REALLY bad gas.
Does Galactus like his planets with fava beans and a nice chianti?
@RapidEyeMovement The REAL question in: Would he eat Uranus?
did anyone else read the Fantastic Four/Superman comic where Superman was led to believe that Galactus was responsible for the destruction of Krypton?
I think Galactus misread “all you can eat” as “you can eat all”. Maybe his English is a little shaky.
Did Galactus ever try to eat Ego?
@DanTheMan Yes, yes he did. Twice.
I wonder how many points Earth is on Weigh Watchers?
