Francavilla and Bunn on “La Cucaracha”

Over at Francesco Francavilla's blog, he teased some images from an upcoming Graveslinger short story, written by Cullen Bunn, that will be appearing in a collection of shorts from IDW later this year. The story is called "La Cucaracha."

You might remember Graveslinger from an Image/Shadowline series a couple of years back.

I checked with Cullen Bunn about the story, and it's pretty early, so he doesn't have a lot of details, but he had this to say: "Different creative teams will be tackling the Old West horror character created by Shannon Eric Denton and Jeff Mariotte. Each story will pit the title character against some unusual situation or foe … and for a guy who passes the time hunting down the undead, that's saying a lot!

When I wrote the story, I had no idea I'd be working with Francesco. In fact, I didn't know for sure until I saw the first page of art. Francesco is a friend and he's an amazing talent. We have a lot of the same interests and sensibilities, and I've wanted to work on something with him for a long while. I'm thrilled that he managed to get attached to this story!
"

In any case, just check out the images Francavilla posted:
