USA Today has the first official photos from X-Men 3.
We get to see what the Beast will look like and I’m still trying to come with grips with the fact that the annoying actor from Six Feet Under playing Angel.

Ben Foster also played the retarded kid in Freaks and Geeks. I think he’s probably a good actor, so I wouldn’t worry about him.
I’m glad the thing Halle Berry is focusing on is her hair. That’s what I was worried about.

Trailer thoughts:
– Beast looks fine in motion.
– The “war” sets look kinda cheap.
– It doesn’t seem to have the inherent grandiosity that Singer brings to his work.
– I’m still more concerned with the awful spoilers I read a while back.
– Dumb that there is no iPod version like they had with SUPERMAN RETURNS.
Surprise! This movie actually looks pretty good. You could tell me that Singer directed the movie, and from this teaser, I’d believe you.

Conor you’re right, Beast looked pretty good. I don’t mind the “War” set that much, don’t know the context.
I didn’t really feel any less grandiosity from Singer’s trailers.
What were the spoilers you read? Did I read them? do I want to know them?
Things I noticed after watching it on freeze frame:
– Colossus in an Ultimate X-Men style uniform
– Vinnie Jones as Juggernaught? Not sure I dig the costume, but I don’t know how it can exist in real life and not look dumb
– Jean Grey wearing red and aligned with Magneto?
This teaser did the job, I’m psyched for this underdog of a movie now after Singer left.
Looks like they’re taking the Raimi Spider-Man approach of borrowing from the original text but modifying it (i.e. Mary Jane thrown off the bridge), but I’m ok with that.
Bold prediction? Prof. X dies.

They’re clearly attending Prof. X’s funeral. Whether he comes back, that’s a different story.
Juggie’s costume….not so much. Why the belly shirt and weird rubber abs?
I’m curious to see how they do it, and I wish I knew it was going to be good, but in my heart, I know that I don’t like how this guy directs a movie.
That’s a much more mature response than “That guy sucks!” I’m trying.
Professor X is not the only person missing from that funeral scene.

I believe the “war” sets might actually be a Danger Room scene. Would make sense considering how disheveled and perhaps even disinterested Wolverine looks, don’t it?
I actually thought it might be the Danger Room, but I’ve also heard others speculate that they turn San Francisco into a warzone. Who knows?
Hopefully it’s the DM, that would assuage my fears.
