Community’s Donald Glover Appears in LI’L DEPRESSED BOY

One of the things I love the most about L’il Depressed Boy is in addition to the relationship drama, there’s a strong presence of music. It’s great to see 3 of my favorite things (love, music and comics) come together in one place. It’ gets even better when that world collides with one of my favorite entertainers of late.

Childish Gambino is the musical act fronted by rapper Donald Glover, who you may recognize from his role on NBC’s Community, and will be making a guest appearance in Li’l Depressed Boy #10.  To celebrate the appearance, a special limited edition cover to the comic will be available on tour with Childish Gambino as they embark on their “Camp” tour.  the Li’l Depressed Boy creative team of S. Steven Struble and Sina Grace  promise that this issue will hit on numerous themes present in Childish Gambino’s Camp tour and the songs they perform.

We’ve got a sneak peek at some pages from Li’l Depressed Boy #10, featuring Childish Gambino below, and below that are the full list of tour dates for Childish Gambino, so you can check out the music and fun, and pick up a limited edition comic book while you’re at it.

I know I’ll be running to the merch table to grab the issue when I go see Childish Gambino in San Francisco in April.

Comments

  1. Will buying this in anyway help keep Community on the air?

Great to see the cast is becoming members of pop culture though

  2. Yet another reason for me to go see Chidish Gambino in Montreal in August! “Black rock, like a fuckin’ Lost episode!”

  3. Donald Glover’s music is truly, truly medicore verging on the edge of bad

He is fantastic on Community and Mystey Team but as far as rap goes, he should stick to comedy

  4. If nothing else, this is going to give me a great reason to try a new comic, and that’s never a bad thing. Easily one of the few rappers I actually want to listen to.

  5. Well thank you sir for including that list of tour stops. I had no idea he was performing in Boston this summer. Ticket bought.

  6. Literally flew to Paris for one night just to see Gambino as the London show two days later had sold out. When I got back I decided to drive to London anyway on a punt. Managed to get chatting with the bassist and drummer and they got me in. It was a rad week. LDB is one of my favourite books already so this news just damn near gave me a semi.
