‘Beware the Batman’ – S01E02 – “Secrets”

Beware the Batman_Secrets

Here’s how “Secrets” is described:

A new female villain named Magpie kidnaps Batman (who must decipher her multiple personality disorder in order to outsmart her).

I look forward to your thoughts, opinions, gripes, live-blogging, etc.

  1. Overall a decent episode I thought; I loved the easter eggs and the display of Batman’s detective skills. I wa alittle surprised that Kurtwood Smith was voicing Comm. Gordon. He pops up in a lot of DC stuff; is he a comic fan or something? Seriously, he’s been in JL, GL, Batman:TAS I think.GL: First flight too.

I have a few minor gripes with the episode;one is Magpie’s costume. I’m no prude but its a little much; leather corset, undies, and thigh high boots. The other is it seems like Batman’s physical prowess shifts back and forth in the episode from beginner to expert, its weird.

I don’t know why but I started losing interest in this episode towards the end, like I didn’t care how it ended.

Finally: The short. Am I the only one loving these WW grindhouse 70s/ charlie’s angel’s shorts? Already one of my favorite interpretations of the character, and I don’t even like her! More of these please.

  2. This was great. I really don’t get all the gripes with this show. Some of the wide establishing shots can be a little sparse at times but that’s really the only problem I see and I’m hoping that will change in the second season. (supposing it gets one) I thought the action sequences were very well done and I enjoyed seeing Batman use his detective skills in this episode.

Is Magpie a new villain for this show or has she appeared in the comics?

  3. Man, I’m just not liking anything about this show. Pretty much everything I said last time holds true today. Glad DVR-ing it doesn’t give it a view.

I’m enjoying the WW shorts WAY more! I wonder if they plan on collecting all these shorts on DVD.

  4. “Arson Suspected In Warehouse Fire”

Might we be getting Firefly sometime soon?
