Architecture Meets Comics

The New York Times has an interesting piece about the role that architecture plays in Grant Morrison’s The Manhattan Guardian, one of the Seven Soldiers series by DC.

Morrison has invented Cinderella City, an obvious tweaked New York, with buildings that were dreamed of, but never built, such as “a hotel that the Spanish architect Antonio Gaudí designed for New York nearly a century ago.”

Seems interesting as Morrison and artist Cameron Stewart (who is not mentioned until the end of the article) are really making a detailed effort at the backdrop of this book which can be as much of a character as The Manhattan Guardian himself.

No mention of the plot or story of the book in the article though. I dropped this book after the first issue, anyone reading it?
