Archie Goes Day and Date with Graphicly!

In some exciting news, and another step forward for digital comics, Archie Comics announced today on CBR's Robot6 Blog that in April 2011, they will be going day and date with their digital comics on the Graphicly platform.  They previously announced their intention to go day and date with their own Archie app and iVerse a few weeks ago, and this announcement expands their offering to other platforms in addition to their own app and their offering on iVerse.

Clearly, we're excited for this as it shows a major publisher stepping up and committing to making their comics available in both comic book stores as well as digital platforms.

You can check out Archie's offering on Graphicly now by heading over to the Graphicly Web App

[Disclosure: iFanboy is owned by Graphicly]

  1. What a fantastic precedent to set!  The Big Two should take note.  Remember, Archie comics — specifically the digests — are already big sellers (at least in 2009 they were).  Bold and brilliant move, if you ask me.

  2. Right On.

I am not a huge Archie fan- but this is good news for the state of the state.

  3. Glad to see this. Its too bad i’m not really into the Archie-verse. Maybe i’ll suggest this to the parents of my nieces and nephews….they like comics and technology…win.

I’m glad that a major publisher is leading the way on this. thats how you change things.
