July 15, 2011 – This may not be the hotly anticipated San Diego 2011 show, but fear not, that is coming next week! Instead, we have this episode of A Taste of Comics from the ATOC archives.  Recorded earlier this spring, C.B. Cebulski, Filip Sablik and Ron Richards gathered to reminsce about the food they enjoyed in Seattle in March 2011, which was an eating extravaganza.  In addition, they rundown the comics that they've been digging as of spring 2011.

Stay tuned for next week's show, which is our special San Diego edition!

  1. Butcher Baker is fun, but I think it’s starting to wear on me. At this point I’m mostly reading it for the art. Mike Huddlestein is now in my top five artists, but the book just doesn’t feel original or creative at all. It just feels like a writer trying way too hard to be edgy about superheroes. There are no likeable characters to latch on to, too much of the shock value feels like “Woah, look at all these penises in a superhero book!” and it’s just getting boring. I’m supposed to feel bad for Butcher getting betrayed by the government after failing his mission and causing the deaths of who knows how many civilians? The art is amazing though.
    *sigh* Ramble done.

  2. Nothing wrong with a 3rd Dick’s cheeseburgers at all Ron. Nothing at all. Hopefully you’ve tried the Dick’s Deluxe. That is what Dick’s is all about.

It’s amazing how you guys know so much about all these restaurants in my own city that I’ve never even heard of. You are truly food nerds. 😉

And only since this is a comic book site, I got one little nitpick. Ron said that the oyster place was in Ballard and not Seattle. Ballard is a neighborhood of Seattle. In fact, it’s where I live. Definitely still Seattle. Just not downtown. Thought I’d mention it seeing as how expert you were on just about everything else in the podcast. Nice job. You succeeded in making me very hungry.

  3. It’s a bit weird to host a food podcast and never have done a wine pairing.
