March 12, 2011 – Our last recording session before the convention season begins, Filip Sablik, C.B. Cebulski, Russ Cundiff and Ron Richards gather to lament the passing of the Human Torch in Fantastic Four, as well as discuss comics such as Starman, Echoes, and Amazing Spider-Man.

When the topic of discussion moves to food, the guys have a lot to discuss with tales of pork chops in San Francisco at the Tee Off Grill, another Russ/Chef encounter at Street in Los Angeles, behind the curtain of F.O.O.M. with C.B. at Ma Peche in New York City, and Filip tells of the La Cachette Bistro in Santa Monica.

  1. Having just read my first FF ever (the silent issue, then the 1st Hickman trade) based on the POTW podcast a few weeks ago, I’m looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say about Human Torch.

  2. Hey this was really fun I am going to subscribe now. Moving back to LA from NY soon Street sounds right up my alley. Yuk Yuk.

  3. Love it! My two favorite things, rolled into one!

  4. I thought Con season started last week with ECCC!   😉

  5. I grow really tired of hearing the question “Is the FF still relevant?”

    What does that even mean?

Does anyone ask if the Hulk is still relevant or the X-Men or Spiderman.

The trend in comics culture to latch on to a phrase or a critique of the moment withought really asking what that question means makes me mad.

Why should the FF be less relevant than Any other long running title.

The thing is it is a long running title so the challenge to come up with new story lines and put together exciting creative teams is more challening sure- but the core concept of the book and the characters is still great- classic if you want but relevancy isn’t the issue.

  6. The Hulk isn’t relevent, actually. That’s why he sucks. 🙂

In all seriousness, this is one of my favorite podcasts of all time. Every episode, I write down a new restraurant to try, even though some of the places these boys go is way freakin’ expensive. 🙂
