April 17, 2012 2:25 pm Good point. Brian Wood, too. I forgot all about Brubaker.
April 17, 2012 11:28 am Grant Morrison, too, yeah? He drew a page in the last issue of The Invisibles, and I feel like I've seen character designs and preliminary sketches from him in the back of some of his books.
March 19, 2012 1:08 pm That's pretty cool, Gerry. I bet that was one hell of a good atmosphere to read those stories in.
March 19, 2012 12:00 pm You and me both, Gerry! I remember loving City of Glass so much when I first encountered it that I read it one sitting. I don't expect that we'll see adaptations of the other books in the trilogy (though it would be awesome if we did) as this one is a re-issue. They originally did the comic in 1994.
December 1, 2011 12:33 pm Hey Jason - I think it's just a matter of taste. It's been a little while since I read Heavy Liquid, but I just didn't like it that much. I wanted to give an overview of Pope's work--1 thing from DC Universe, 1 from Vertigo, 1 self-published, 1 Dark Horse. Given that it's not my favorite work by him, Heavy Liquid didn't fit that. To anyone reading this, though, if you like other Pope books, I'd definitely track it down. I think anything by him is worth a look.
December 1, 2011 12:31 pm Hey Jared - I don't think Escapo is going to be in the new One Trick Rip-Off edition, but I can't say that definitively. I just check Amazon; I didn't realize it was going for such high prices! Maybe another online comic shop?
October 31, 2011 9:45 am Oh, good point on the NSFW. Thanks. I've added it. Didn't realize you were in Tokyo. Shipping it there may indeed be a bit tougher, but I wouldn't be shocked in they'd do it. Now, whether you want to pay that shipping fee, that's another question!
October 29, 2011 2:03 pm Hey Cormac - It's definitely a tough story to find in stores, but that link at the top of the review to Sleazy Slice will take you to the publisher's website where you can buy it through mail order. Simmons has stories in a bunch of other issues of Sleazy Slice, too.
October 7, 2011 11:24 pm Thanks! If you like Sparkplug, you're going to dig next week's review.
May 14, 2011 11:31 am @HailScott - I'm really glad to hear you enjoyed Termites. Thanks for the kind words! Hope you dig the other stories, too.
