Sif #1

I've been waiting for this since the solicit first came out months ago.

Is this an ongoing or set up for a thread in Fractions upcoming run on Thor?

I haven't decided to pick this up yet or not.

Is this a one-shot or ongoing? Why can't they just put this in the regular Thor book? We need another book?

It's a one-shot and this story doesn't fit into the one they are telling in THOR, so it's in a seperate issue.

I know Lady Sif isn't the most ladylike of Ladies, but she's crossing into Red Sonja territory on that cover. ;-)

I'm really excited for this. I met Kelly Sue briefly and she's very cool (as cool as Fraction! Perhaps cooler.) And I'm excited to see a husband/wife take on these characters.  

Oh, and @UsPunx and @IronCladMerc if you enlarge the picture it very clearly says ONE SHOT on the indica. 

I'm picking this up for the art.  That cover is entrancing.

totally cool cover. Is it coincidence that this one shot is out at the same time as a firestar one shot and shortly following a jackpot mini? Could Marvel be doing an in-house comic idol competition, where they release one shots and minis of potential leading women and then make an ongoing fo the best seller? Or am I giving them too much credit/reading into it too much?

@har13quin This part of Marvel's Women of Marvel promotion showcasing various female characters and spotlighting female talent.

@ Prax I know about the women of Marvel thing, but I would hope that Marvel have some kind of end game in mind, like more ongoing books featuring leading women and/or bringing more women into the industry. Otherwise what is the point?

@har13quin-Well the point is to shine the spotlight on female characters and creators, but yes they are also doing exactly what you stated. They are bringining in more female creators and giving them new books. So far the only new ongoing I they have released is Black Widow, but I suspect there could be more as the year rolls out. Minis and one-shots shouldn't be disregarded though, because a ton of those are being put out.

I liked this. I wasn't stellar, but it was a good done-one story. 4/5 for me. Kelly Sue really nailed the voice of Sif. Beta Ray Bill felt a little stiff though. Fun story, though I was hoping it would mesh a bit better with the ongoing Thor stuff.

This was alright.

I did not know anything about these characters, but I really got the feel for Sif's arc during this story, and I think that is great.  I also really appreciate that someone thought to say, "Maybe we should consider how this character feels about having her body stolen by Loki!"  (I don't know if that was addressed in the main book or not, but likely not in this depth).  I did think the ending felt a bit abrupt, but I came away from it really liking this new-to-me character, and more inclined to pick up the Thor series once Fraction takes it over.

I thought this was awesome. I would love to see at the very least a five issue series. Someone already hit it on the head when they said she nailed the voice of Sif.
