Two words: YESSSSSSSS. (twice.)
I think based on the font and the quote, it’s safe to assume that this has something to do with Daft Punk. I’d read a comic about those guys getting up to retro-futuristic shenanigans.
My first thought was Daft Punk related as well.
We’re gonna celebrate! Oh yeah! Oh right! Don’t stop tha dancin’!
emphatically and enthusiastically seconded.
I agree. I suddenly feel like I’m in a dance club at 2am, wondering if I should hit Del Taco on the way home…
something starring Marty McFly?
Wally, this was the first thing I thought it could be. But wouldn’t the text be an orange color? Now I’m thinking “One More Time” is the name of the project, but it is in the vein of 80’s movies like Back to the Future or War Games. Which…would be awesome!
yeah well either way that style of OCR font is definitely retro 80s technology. The daft punk connections that others are stating are interesting.
YESSSSSSS
ohmygodohmygodohmygod! *dies*
*SQUEEEEE*
I’m still dead from the awesome,
I seem to be adding new Image books to my pull list at a pretty healthy clip since the new year. Fatale, Thief of Thieves, and Peter Panzerfaust so far with Saga and The Manhattan Projects starting in a couple weeks.
So far, I have ZERO problems with this trend and look forward to learning more about this book!
Not interested in Prophet? I enjoyed it a lot more than Fatale or Thief of Thieves. Besides Saga, the Extreme line is what I’m looking forward to most from Image, although I never read any of the titles in their previous incarnation.
yeah i’m actively trying to add more image and other indies as well, mostly due to “same ol, same ol” boredom. My only thing is sticking with them for longer than the first issue or two. There is lots of exciting potential out there right now in the creator owned realm thats for sure.
I’m not NOT interested in Prophet, all the reviews and discussion I’ve heard sounds good — next week is a light week, so if my shop still has it, I’ll give it a shot.
A 2nd printing came out a week or two ago, so you may have some luck finding it. It’s a really promising series. It really scratches that sci-fi without superheroes itch I’ve been having for some time now.
NEW PHONOGRAM?!
Something digital watch related, perhaps?
I just started reading Phonogram recently and am incredibly hooked.
24?
Definitely something with an 80’s tie-in.
It’s also a Daft Punk song, which explains the digital look and also could be another tie-in to Phonogram.
What if it’s digital as in digital comic?
It’s going to be for me either way, but that would be interesting
Please, please, please be Phonogram 3.
I’ll buy it anyway, though.
I don’t know what it is, but I know I NEED it bad.
Oh wow, this looks all kinds of awesome! Can’t wait to find out more.
Phonogram – The story of a bunch of young phonomancers, music magicians, in and around the Britpop and club scene

A dance based Phonogram? KG has gone on record as saying they cannot afford it but I’d dearly love it to be so.
Whatever it is, when McKelvie is drawing I’m getting it.
Gillen/Mckelvie doing a Britney Spears comic? Awesome.
how is that when they said no more with the poor sales http://www.comicsalliance.com/2010/03/09/phonogram-kieron-gillen/2#comments
Things change in two years.
It’s not as black and white as “low sales = no more series”. The two don’t make as much money from Phonogram as they do other projects, so naturally, they wanted to do other projects that would get them paid. This has happened, so of course they’d come back to their passion project.
Gillen and Mckelvie work for Marvel now so their names are a little bigger than they used to be. Bigger names sell more books.
I think I just threw up. This is my favorite series of all time. Any medium that mixes in two thing I love more than life (comics and music) will get my money. All the money.
here’s hoping a) that it’s phonogram and b) that they do something transcendent with the digital format – a music download or a spotify playlist to go with each issue.
Oh please oh please oh please.
It definitely has something to do with time travel. That is for sure.
PHEW, when I first saw that teaser I thought it was another Joe Quesada Spider-man story
I have no idea what everyone else is so happy about (Not that you SHOULDN’T be happy, I just mean I am out of the loop on whatever has you so excited.) All I know is there is some sentence with the same font as my microwave and that makes me want leftover pizza.
I think this is going to be another Spider-man – Mephisto thing.
Image united?
This Is The Happiest Day Of My Life!!!!!!!!! Phonogram <3
I am so excited!! I really *really hope it’s Phonogram, but even if it’s not, it’s guaranteed to be fantastic.
Interstella 555 the comic book adaptation?
Here’s the thing: I will weep out of joy if there is a third volume of Phonogram. I will awesome think it’s totally awesome if these three are working on something brand new. Either way, we’re getting awesome comics.
Daft Punk as a pair of space cops fighting evil with sonic based assault weapons, flying through space in their pyramid-class star cruiser?
