Name: Nigel Twine
Bio: 23-02-2011I`ve been reading comics (on-and-off) since 1971 (and thumbing my Dad`s old Eagle comics from the `50s before I could read - still LOVE Frank Hampson`s art). My earliest comics memory is `Giant-Sized-something-or-other` that featured cut-away drawings of Spiderman`s web-shooters. I would go to jumble sales and buy loads of old `Look-In` magazines for the `Trigan Empire` strips (still LOVE Don Lawrence`s work, e.g. `Storm`). Circa 1976 I started adding a monthly `Thor` (Still have a much-thumbed copy of #292 somewhere) to the `Warlord` I was getting weekly. I dropped them both in 1977 in favour of `Action` and `2000AD` which I followed for years (including `Tornado` and `Starlord`). I then switched to `Epic Illustrated` for a while before ditching comics for D&D around `81/`82. In the late `80s the Casino I was working at had a Newsagents with a comic rack and I picked up Daredevil #248 to #261, Fantastic Four #313 to #319, Iron Man #225 to #237 and a few others before dropping comics again. Bought my first house in 1996 and was pleased to find a comics shop nearby - "Ian`s Comics and Books" (Albert Road [near The Bold Forester], Portsmouth, England) and started buying `Spawn`, `Sam & Twitch`, `300`, `Sin City` TPBs, etc. Ian guided me well and turned me onto `100 Bullets`. I stuck with `100 Bullets` buying the TPBs every year or so and whilst looking for the final volume Amazon said, "you might also like, SCALPED". Got the first couple and a little while ago thought there might be a new one out so I googled `Scalped` and found iFanboy.
