They haven't stated how long he's been active, probably because no number they give will make sense. You can assume that things like Dick's time as Robin happened during that earlier time frame (especially since Dick was still in the Teen Titans).

July 25, 2011 9:04 pm New costume is perfect from the waist up and kind of a mess from the waist down. Those kneeholes in the boots drive me crazy. Still really looking forward to this, though. The interviews about it really have me intrigued and the art looks great.
