I was surprised to hear so many people down at my local comic shop praising this book. I picked up the first issue of this series due to the fact that I get the first 3 issues of all the new image books as part of a promo at my shop, and honestly it kind of felt like JMS read some old Ennis Hellblazer and said “I could do that better.” and then proceeded to not do it better. I’m giving the story a 1 just because 2 is average and on a whole comics are awesome right now. Templesmith is amazing, and I might continue picking up this title just to see him draw monsters, but on the writing side this is just another JMS book packed with words explaining exactly what is happening on panel behind them.
