I don't know why, but Simone's writing in this book is substantially
better here than on Wonder Woman.
Maybe it's the fact that there isn't the crushing amount of continuity and built in fan base here that Diana gets.
Maybe it's the fact that when she leaves it will probably coincide with the cancellation of the book whereas WW will still be published long after her death.
Maybe it's just the fact these characters lend themselves more toward comedy than the princess could hope to.
Regardless, this book is so much more entertaining than anything else Gail is writing. I love the complete blank slate that would be any other character's moral compass.
With that being said, I really like where the Bane Scandal relationship is heading and how it is going. I liked the appearance by a certain supporting character I haven't thought about in quite a few years. She might have been in that awful Amazon's Attack miniseries I didn't read, but the last time I remember reading her was when she pulled a Jean Paul Valley for Diana.
I think it would be tragically funny if Gail can make a Wonder Woman supporting character more interesting here than in WW.
The art was really solid. I like the subtle scratches and scars on Bane's body. I'm not a fan of the silver locks on the other girl, but she does look distinct. And the flimsiness of Ragdoll is always fun.
