So we finally get to see the return of Duncan Rosenblatt, it has been too long. I love that Duncan has real problems he must deal with on a daily basis. Between over inflating the resesitation doll, breaking the streering wheel on the driver's ed car, and his mom baking him "Little Duncan" cupcake this kids has all of the same problems as an average teenager... only 10 times worse because he is half dragon. Duncan continues to have awkwad moments with Jenna and frankly I have to agree with Ken - cut your losses and move on. It is too painful to watch him make a fool of himself each time they interact and she will be off to college soon (I feel like I am writing love advice for Cosmo here).
I believe the graffitti on the outside of the walls of the auto shop classroom was something leading us to a bigger problem in the near future. The word was "burned" into the wall and referred to a duel of sorts. I am starting to question if Belloc didn't have another child and he might be jealous of Duncan and the feelings the Belloc has started to show towards his "favorite" son. We got to see more of this throughout the issue as Duncan is called away to fight an alien robot that has severely injured Belloc. I personally believe that Belloc is about to die and that will be something that Duncan will have to deal with but maybe I am reading too much into his injuries.
Alien robots, dragons, fighting, grafitti, and an overweight driver's education teacher with a Big Gulp... what more could you ask for in an issue? Great read againg and I am optimistic that issue #4 will be out sooner than later. Keep 'em coming Team Firebreather and I will keep making sure that everyone knows that this is one heck of an incredible book.
