The Siege of Little Spring continues, and I’m starting not to care.

Six issues is a long time for this single plot to take, what feels so much like a beginning, a single action in a longer war. And this issue isn’t the end. But despite feeling without emotional investment, the tension remains, and most of all, I still want to learn more about this cast.

That’s been the best thing about these last several issues. The plot hasn’t moved forward a whole lot, but we’ve taken the time to learn much more about some of the individuals who are our heroes. I could easily imagine reading and enjoying a series about these characters going on an epic fantasy adventure. I just wish the adventure would hurry up and start.

  1. The dragging… Ugh! I dropped this series last issue. I think I’ll wait for it to come out in trade and then read it in one sitting. Waiting month after month for something that feels epic but we only get a glimpse of this, a glimpse of that… After six months, I totally forgot what happened like 2 months ago in the story and reading this becomes a little irrelevant afterwards.

Sucks to drop a Paul Cornell book and mostly a fantasy one at that!!!

  2. The cast is what brought me to this book, and so far, I still don’t have a feel or connection to any of them. I’m done with this one. Also, good job getting on the podcast.
