This was a pretty medicore week, comic wise.
There was some fun part ones (Sweet Tooth and Deadpool) and some books that just continued aimlessly (JLA: Cry for Justice). It was a difficult week for me to make a pick of the week. I was tempted to say Sweet Tooth as it interested me in a way too few #1's do. I'm definatly in for next issue.
In the end I decided on Buffy. This title has definatly been on a downer this year. The months of oneshots, while not bad, took me too far away from the central story. Not a problem on TV, but six months with no plot development is not great for comics. Now we're back, and the story has started to cash the cheuques the early stories promised. Andrew has realised there is a traitor in the mix, all Xander and Dawn's time together recently has led to an interesting developement and Buffy is dealing with her actions from the Time of your Life arc (from last year!)
This issue felt more like another oneshot, rather than the middle chapter of the Retreat arc, but at least it is paying off on previously set up stories.
Come on, Joss and Co, you've started to wrap things up, lets make the last twelve issues as good as the first, yeah?
